What Type of Divorce Record Do You Need?
There are two types of divorce records commonly used:
Divorce Decree: Issued by the court and signed by a judge, this document outlines the legal terms of the divorce. It is typically obtained from the County Clerk where the divorce was finalized.
Divorce Certificate: Contains basic facts such as the names of both parties, date, and location of the divorce. This is often issued by a state or local government agency.

- Certified Copy Required: Make sure your document is issued by the County Clerk’s Office where the divorce was finalized and bears a visible seal and signature.
- County Authentication: We will authenticate it at the local County Clerk’s office before submitting to the New York Department of State.
- Pickup or Mail-In: You can either mail us the certified copy or we can coordinate local courier services where possible.
